The push to beef up Jackson’s wireless telecommunications comes mainly from the introduction of 5G technology, which carriers say will dramatically improve service, increase download speeds, and pave the way for driverless cars. One noteworthy facet of 5G is that it benefits more from many smaller cell facilities rather than a few large ones.

AT&T in particular is looking to install some 12-15 of these in Jackson, mainly incorporated into street light poles. Company spokesperson Terri Nikole Baca said the installations would be part of an early 5G preparation but the full rollout of the new technology is still some time off. She added that, at the very least, the new mini-facilities would bolster the existing 4G coverage in town, which suffers from overload during peak summer months.

Seriously, auto makers probably will be installing “smart meters” in all new cars so as to prevent accidents but, realistically, it’s surreptitiously a way to pave the way for – you got it – “self-driving cars”!

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is proposing to mandate radar (called V2V technology) in all new cars and light trucks. [1]

The system is the V2V, which is like a smart meter in the car!

Smart meters on your utility services pump radiofrequencies (RFs) into your homes and, if being proposed for autos, somewhere operating close to your body while in your new high-tech automobile!

The new mast – 33% taller than the existing mast – will serve customers of EE and H3G Ltd and be able to serve a much larger area than the current transmitter. It will be equipped with the controversial Chinese-made Huawei transmitters.

The microwave radiation from the proposed new transmitter will be much stronger than at present – leading to fears that it might affect people living in the immediate vicinity and – specifically – young pupils in the nearby schools at Ysgol Pen y Garth, St Cyres School and Ysgol y Deri .

On October 28, 2018, Microwave News published a report on two research teams from UK, in which each had observed a rise in glioblastoma in England between 1995 and 2014. Glioblastomas are the most malignant brain tumours leading to death in nearly 100% of the cases shortly after detection (1).

While incidence and location of the brain tumours were comparable in both studies, the conclusions about the pathogenesis of the tumours were different. Philips et al. (2) see the cause for the rise in glioblastoma in the increasing use of mobile phones, while de Vocht (3) is of the opinion that such an assumption can be excluded with a high probability. This dispute is in some way evocative of the controversy between the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP). In the $ 30-million study, the NTP detected malignant schwannoma in the heart and glioblastoma in the brain of male rats after exposure to mobile phone radiation for a period of two years. ICNIRP, a non-governmental organization under the undisclosed control of the telecommunication industry, which is responsible for the establishment of safety limits for non-ionizing radiation in Europe and beyond, tried to play down the significance of the NTP findings by casting doubts on their reliability. While ICNIRP has totally ignored any progress of research since the turn of the century (4), de Vocht based his findings on what he calls “synthetic counterfactuals”, which sounds – rightly or wrongly – more like “alternative facts”.

However, exposure to other sources of non-ionizing radiation was not linked to speech problems. Moreover, exposure to ionizing radiation (e.g. radiography before and during pregnancy) was not associated with the occurrence of speech problems.

For many of us, the word “radiation” conjures up images of nuclear power plants, medical X-rays or even the iconic yellow-and-black warning signs that identified air-raid shelters back in the 1960s. It’s a scary word – one that we’ve all been taught means inherent danger.

And so it’s somewhat surprising that we are so accepting of radiation when it comes to the wireless devices that permeate our modern lives.

All of our mobile phones emit some level of radiation (radio frequency microwave radiation), as do wireless utility meters, wireless baby monitors, tablets, laptops and, of course, the ubiquitous wireless routers and antennas that send and receive the signals that tether us to the digital world.

For more than three decades, our government agencies have maintained that the radiation from all these wireless devices is completely harmless. It’s non-ionizing radiation, they say, incapable of having any effect on us other than a potential thermal effect – the burning of our skin if we get too close to a powerful antenna.

In fact, our current federal human exposure guidelines, established in 1996, are based on research conducted in the 1980s on such thermal effects. They are not at all relevant to today’s near-constant exposures in our homes, our schools, places of business and all means of transportation, nor do they recognize the robust and growing body of research on wireless radiation.

Commerce Department trade officer Catherine Werner used to promote American business from the U.S. consulate in Guangzhou, China. Today she says she suffers from bouts of nausea, dizziness, and headaches. She says her sense of balance is off.

Robyn Garfield, also a trade officer with the Commerce Department, was posted in Shanghai. Along with nausea, dizziness, and headaches, he says he has trouble remembering words.

State Department security officer Mark Lenzi used to work in the consulate in Guangzhou. When he did, he said the splitting pain in his head was debilitating. He couldn't sleep. "I was thinking, 'What is wrong with me? Something's wrong,'" he said.

The three are among at least 15 American officials in China who say they suffered unexplained brain trauma after being attacked by a mysterious weapon. Previously, 26 Americans who worked in the U.S. embassy in Cuba said they also experienced an attack and have similar symptoms.

Breast cancer as a main concern

Both in the developed and developing countries, breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women (, ). It’s well documented that women with mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes have an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancers. A study published in JAMA in 2017 shows that the cumulative risk of breast cancer to age 80 y was 72% (95% CI, 65%-79%) for BRCA1 and 69% (95% CI, 61%-77%) for BRCA2 carriers (). Almost all living organisms have developed endogenous circadian rhythmicity as daily oscillations in their physiology, over the past 3 billion years (). Datta et al. in 2014 reported that in both developed and developing countries, there is a rising trend of breast cancer that challenges the screening programs as a real threat ().

It is well documented that melatonin can effectively
